Where to start? Always with a large coffee.
Being a KFC Area Manager is a fast-paced role, and honestly, no two days are ever quite the same. Mine usually begins by checking performance across the restaurants: reviewing sales, staffing, customer feedback, and operational standards. My time is a valuable resource, so I have to be targeted and organised about how I spend it. What will add the most value, and where?
Depending on where my support is needed most, I head out to visit stores, working closely with Restaurant Managers and their teams to make sure everything is running smoothly. I see myself as a people manager first and an operations manager second, so a huge part of the job is about supporting people. That might mean coaching managers, recognising great performance, or helping a team work through a challenge together.
Throughout the day, I am constantly balancing commercial goals with delivering a great experience, for every customer and every colleague. Whether I am helping a restaurant prepare for a busy period, talking through plans to improve sales, or making sure food safety and company standards are consistently met, there is always something that needs my focus.
It is a challenging role, but a genuinely rewarding one. I get to develop talented people, improve restaurant performance, and make a real difference across the area I look after.
